A tour of the app
What is new is at the top. It is shown twice. Under Topics, the avatar speaks. That file is for interested laypeople. Under Library, there is no avatar. That file is for scientists: a short description, and the links to the papers. The topics are the same in both places. Similar papers by other people are included, so the same work is not done twice. When a new paper belongs to a topic, the app takes it in. The week lists his posts by day. You can ask a question in the field above. Suggestions are welcome.

Japan’s national science academy is to come under much closer government scrutiny. On 1 October a law from the previous year took effect. The council is no longer a special body that runs its own affairs. It is a public corporation under government oversight. A new evaluation committee can review its work and recommend changes, which the council must consider.
